This is Zina here, the Divorce Reinvention Queen.
I hope you have had a wonderful Summer and are slowly winding down back into reality, especially if you happen to be a parent and your children have finally gone back to school, college or university or will be doing so soon. I am breathing a lonnnnng sign of relief…..phew! We got back from our Summer holidays in the Sun, we were in the wonderful Malta, spending lazy evenings walking along the sandy beaches and watching the sun set downing refillable glasses of ice cold drinks. We spent the day visiting wonderful places of adventure like the Islands of Comino, swimming in the Blue Lagoon and seeing the caves. We also went to Gozo, power boating in the sea at 100mph and peering down into the different shades of the blue sea. It was a wonderful adrenalin rush….although I thought I’d die at sea while my teenaged daughters wanted to do it again and againJ. We swam with Dolphins, went to St Paul’s Bay. We had a truly amazing, fun and restful time, so grateful for the opportunity, especially as a single mum to go way with my children.
Anyway, enough about me, I have the wonderful pleasure to introduce my guest blogger for this week, a truly inspirational, strong, beautiful, smart and warm hearted, resilient woman, who successfully balances her life as a single mother, her full time job, her volunteering in the community as well as her compassion and mission to support others. I hope this piece encourages and inspires you.
If you are reading this and happen to be a single mother. Know this, you are not alone and guess what? You are doing an amazing job raising our leaders for tomorrow. Be Encouraged.
"May 2012, a new season in my life started...just my boys and I. All day, everyday, 24/7...
Over 4 years and there are still days when I truly feel I cannot possibly survive another day raising them on my own, that I'm too overwhelmed for another school run or to attend another activity/event/meeting/appointment, queue on another theme park ride line, supervise another piece of homework, deal with another argument about the same thing for 10,000th time or encourage/empower them to be /do their best.
There are times when I am truly convinced that another day of managing the home alongside working outside the home or sorting out another laundry load will definitely 'finish me off' and I'll be out the door never look back...
However, God remains faithful as he continues to give me the strength to keep going and reminds me of great times with these boys, their beautiful spirits and their truly grateful hearts.
There have been many trying times, many times of complete and total exhaustion, however, these 3 little boys make it all worth it... Well... Most of the time at least😉
